Lionel Messi has been left on the bench for Argentina's friendly with El Salvador on Saturday night.
The Barcelona star missed training on Thursday after picking up a foot injury but it was thought he would recover in time to feature at the FedEx Field stadium in America.
However, Argentina boss Gerardo Martino has opted not to take any risks with another friendly against Ecuador on the horizon on Wednesday.
Messi's Barca team-mate Javier Mascherano is also missing from the starting XI as the Albiceleste shuffle their pack.
Argentina (4-2-3-1): Guzman; Zabaleta, Musacchio, Funes Mori, Orban; Pereyra, Banega; Di Maria Lavezzi, Tevez; Higuain.
